CBT focuses on developing an understanding between the way we think (our cognitions), the way we feel (our emotions) and the way we behave. Often we fall into vicious cycles between these areas and CBT explores 

EMDR

EMDR and CBT are both recommended as the treatment choice for Post traumatic stress however EMDR also has efficacy in many other mental health disorders. EMDR helps people by processing past memories that are colouring their perception, attitudes, beliefs and behaviours in the present.

I offer Clinical supervision for CBT therapists both in training and qualified. I have completed IAPT approved training courses for CBT therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Therapists. I can offer group or individual Supervision

My Approach

One thing I always say to my clients is that my ultimate goal is to 'make you your own therapist so you don't need me anymore'.
These might not be favourable words for many therapists earning a living, but it is a goal I always strive to achieve. 

I believe my role is to help you:

Understand the problem and what is keeping it going.

 

Identify goals for yourself both short term and long term to help give you focus

Learn strategies and techniques that can help you cope better, overcome and make positive changes.

Be able to maintain your progress after therapy and reduce the chances or impacts of setbacks in the future.

Become more resilient, understanding of good mental heath awareness which could have a positive impact on your relationships and the wellbeing of others around you. 

About me

I am an experienced BABCP accredited CBT therapist also trained in EMDR therapy, Cognitive Processing therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and working with people suffering with both common mental health issues and long term physical health conditions. 
 

In addition to offering talking therapies I also deliver Clinical supervision to therapists both qualified and in training. I am trained at IAPT approved level for High intensity trainees and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and have experience delivering 1-1, group/peer and clinical skills supervision. 

I Live in Central Lancashire and can offer face to face sessions locally or alternatively offer sessions via video call or telephone.
