Megan Brown

BABCP Accredited CBT therapist and EMDR clinician

Hello, I'm Megan

I’m a nurse and therapist with lots of experience in the NHS working with common and complex mental health difficulties, for almost 20 years.

Treatments I offer:

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)About meI started my career as a Mental Health Nurse; I trained with Steve in 2009. I quickly moved towards working psychologically with clients and trained as a CBT therapist, by chance with Steve again!

Now trained in EMDR, I’m keen to get to the root cause of your difficulties by tracing back to when they first begun. Working on the past and present to help you feel the benefits in the future. I’m compassionate and empathetic whilst also fairly straight talking – if I can see you’re avoiding or missing something, I will let you know. I’m very human and down to earth, I love a good swear word and try to weave humour into sessions where appropriate!

I work part time in private practice and the rest of my week I work in the NHS. I’ve had lots of varied and interesting roles over the years, more recently working as a therapist on a research trial in the NHS. I’m regularly reading and studying to keep up to date with the latest advances in psychological therapy.
